Because the oven section does not have a solid base, if using the oven to cook a pizza (which I have never done) you would need to put the pizza on a pizza stone or griddle.Apart from the stand, which is of less robust construction, the oven is tough enough to withstand all weathers outside without additional protection, although it is possible to buy covers. The oven door is large enough to put dishes or skillets into the oven. I have always used it with the chimney section still in place.
The oven section can be used as an open barbecue, if the chimney section is lifted off. Fortunately the sections of the chimnea oven can be lifted apart since the total weight of the chimnea oven is over 100kg.The oven we are selling is in good general order, although since the stand is rusting, the oven would be better located either on a new stand or on a solid base. The chimnea is made of cast iron and consists of several parts: a stand a fire chamber with fire grate and mesh fire guard door an oven/grill/barbeque section with semi-circular bottom hinged door a chimney and a rain cap/lid.The stand is made of sheet metal, but the remainder of the chimnea oven is made of extremely robust and solid cast iron.
